Jun 03, 2009 Graphics driver requirements for Intel 865. Found that the 'standard VGA driver' was installed. Tried the driver from Windows 7 Beta.
Hi, I have the same problem with my graphics chip. Mine is an Intel 910 GL. When I installed Windows 7, it installed the standard VGA driver. But when I tried installing my Intel Drivers, it told me it could not install it. Tried deleting their driver that they installed, but after they delete it, it makes you reboot your PC and once it had rebooted, it reinstalls it again, so no chance in installing the right driver. But my drivers worked well with windows XP.

So because of this, I have reinstalled Windows XP because everything was slow and alot of things would not work with windows 7 because of the graphics accelerator of graphics card is not compatible with windows 7. Wish it would of, I really liked the new windows. Hope someone in the same situation found a way to fix this problem.
Good luck to you! I turn off aerosnap, else I get freezes. I use this unsigned driver: with this driver, I can play solitaire. But can't playback MP4s using WMP12. WMP12 with Std VGA driver uses 100% CPU.
Use Mplayer for Windows instead; however this is pixellated when using the std VGA driver. The normal, safe driver from Intel will do the same thing and maybe even play videos better, I suggest you use Intel's driver and not the one g4qber has listed. Please use these links: Hello! Intel 865 Vga Driver Download
It's that easy. There is no windows 7 driver for specific 'Intel 865G graphic Chip'. But there is a solution. I'm using the same chip set and the resolution is 1280 x 1024 (16bit- high resolution). You have to enter bios setup mode (usually use function key F2F12 to enter setup mode when you boot).
And find and change onboard video buffer 1MB to 8MB. Next, save and exit. After rebooting, your computer the resolution would not changed.
Click mouse right button on the desktop to enter ' Screen resolution' menu. And click ' Advanced setting', and click ' List All Modes' Then you can change your favorite resolution. Enjoy your computing.
